The Nikon-NOOR Academy 2019, held in Barcelona from November 11 to 14, gathered fourteen emerging visual storytellers for an intensive masterclass. Led by NOOR photographers Sebastian Liste, Tanya Habjouqa, and Jon Lowenstein, and moderated by NOOR Digital Director Pierre Mohamed Petit, the program included portfolio reviews, presentations, in-depth discussions, and story editing.

During this transformative experience, Sara Crochet began developing her “safe space” photo sequence.

The “zine” serves as a self-proclaimed “visual reference guide for healing and finding space” by offering a look into the safe spaces of its subjects, their expressions, and their experiences.
